Ring verloren Muiden.

In de groepsapp een hulproep van een meneer uit Muiden, ring verloren Muiden.
Op het strandje is de ring verloren, zelf uren gezocht maar niet gevonden.
Muiden is een klein stukje voor Ronald en mij.

’s Avonds gaan we het proberen.
Na een paar minuten zoeken een prachtig signaal op de metaaldetector, dit moet hem zijn.
Terwijl ik de ring oppak komt de de eigenaar aangelopen met de hond.
De ring heb ik al in mijn hand en na een kort gesprek waarin hij vertelt hoe belangrijk het voor hem is, zeg ik…”i think we are going to find him…wanne bet”?
Ik hou de ring omhoog en zie de opluchting van op zijn gezicht

My story

I had an amazing evening with my best mate and my dog at our little beach here in Muiden. We wrapped up a perfect BBQ with a swim in the IJmeer, which is something I do often. I always take my ring and watch off before swimming and put them back on afterward. But yesterday, just as I was about to put my ring back on, my dog ran off, causing a bit of chaos. In the confusion, I realized that while my watch was back on my wrist, my wedding ring was missing.

We spent hours searching the beach with flashlights, and I returned first thing the next morning, combing the area throughout the day. Despite having a rough idea of where it might be, we had no luck. I even asked everyone I met at the beach if they’d found anything, but no one had seen it.

Eventually, someone suggested I reach out to the good people at gevonden-verloren.nl, so I did just that. I had heard great things about them, and they didn’t disappoint. Martijn and Ronald contacted me quickly and came by right after dinner to help. I was blown away by their kindness, professionalism, and motivation.

They had already found the ring.

That evening, they arrived in Muiden and began searching the beach. I joined them just five minutes later, and to my amazement, they had already found the ring! Before revealing it to me, they asked how much faith I had in them and whether I’d bet on their success.

I told them I’d bet everything on them—and then they showed me the ring.

TRUE HEROES.

The relief and joy I felt in that moment are hard to put into words. What started as one of the worst days of my life—losing the ring, feeling guilty towards my wife, and believing it would bring bad luck—turned into something truly uplifting. Martijn and Ronald are TRUE HEROES. Their dedication and the impact they had on my well-being and life are beyond words. For me, they’re 10/10 legends! True inspirations and role models. I hope they receive all the good karma in the world for what they do. And if you’re ever in Muiden, there’s always a beer waiting for you.
